Simon Horton

Senior Director, EV Design & Delivery

I lead the team that helps secure new EV infrastructure project contracts and then executes them from initial site feasibility reviews, through design and ultimately completing construction for our clients. Our goal is to develop and execute EV infrastructure projects that maintain or even improve the vehicle operations for our clients while implementing a phased deployment strategy that aligns with their vehicle acquisition planning. Our team consists of internal project engineers and analysts as well as contracted design and construction resources based on project volume and geographic location.

Prior to joining Edison Energy, I spent 13 years at Southern California Edison, primarily in the Distribution Engineering and Design department. For the past 8 years, I spearheaded the assessment, design and construction of the largest suite of utility-led electric vehicle infrastructure programs in the country, completing hundreds of projects that support some 3000 chargers for both light-duty and medium/heavy-duty vehicle operations. I have extensive utility interconnection design and construction experience including interconnection of distributed energy resources and microgrid development. Subject matter expert in large-scale fleet vehicle electrification projects, drayage and goods movement electrification, and last-mile delivery project design.
