Recently, a switchboard was inspected by both the installer and EPC CM, and was scheduled to be energized – “turned-on” – at one of our 6.1 MW Solar Owner’s Representative projects. As the eyes and ears of our client, we always inspect electrical equipment to maintain project integrity throughout the development and implementation phase.
During our inspection of the switchboard at pad 2, we found pliers resting on the bus. This incident could have caused tens of thousands of dollars in damages or problems, or worse, human safety and health could have been seriously affected.
Routine inspections are a crucial part of every construction project. Inspections ensure that proper precautions are taken for the worker and site safety, allowing project workflows to maintain efficiency and quality. Inspections help those who work on a jobsite stay alert, keep the project moving efficiently, and meet pre-established expectations.
