On Friday, May 30, 2019, Edison Energy’s parent company — Edison International (NYSE:EIX) — released its annual Sustainability Report. The report reflects sustainability strategy, performance, and metrics from 2018, and illustrates ways in which the company is continuing to lead the transformation of the electric power industry by focusing on building a clean power future. With their customers, communities, and employees serving as the focal points through which Edison International carries out their business, they are able to execute their sustainability goals while upholding safety as a top priority.
“We’re creating a future where carbon-free resources power the economy,” said Pedro Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International. “At the core of our vision is our commitment to sustainability and public safety, in particular, our response to the challenge of our time — climate change and its impacts, which include the devastating wildfires California has experienced.”
While the report is focused on Edison International, it also touches on how the Edison Energy team is working with large customers to help them reduce their carbon footprints, better manage their energy costs and risks, improve resiliency, and reach their sustainability goals. Edison Energy featured highlights include recent work with Novartis and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts; partnerships with groups such as CDP, American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA), World Resources Institute (WRI), and The Sustainability Consortium (TSC).
