Scope
Edison Energy’s Engineering Solutions team was contracted by New Jersey Resources Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV) to provide owner’s representative and construction management oversight services for the installation of their 20MW, nine-turbine project in Carroll, Iowa. Approximately 65 miles northwest of Des Moines, the wind farm sits on 1,100 acres of rural agricultural land in Carroll County. Edison Energy’s role in the project involved providing assistance for project oversight/construction management, risk mitigation, cost control oversight, site observation and milestone reports, project startup, witness testing, commissioning and turnover services.
Project Results & Key Metrics:

Customer Value
Edison Energy ensured that the project was completed as designed, on time, and on budget—keeping focus on the overall “big picture” throughout all phases of the project. The electrical energy produced by the Carroll Area Wind Farm will be delivered through a 25-year power purchase agreement to MidAmerican Energy, which is Iowa’s largest energy company. MidAmerican Energy delivers to approximately 739,000 electric customers as well as 719,000 natural gas customers across Iowa, Illinois and South Dakota. The wind farm became fully operational in March 2015 and qualifies for federal production tax credits (PTCs).
Edison Energy has been an excellent resource, providing expertise and supplementing the efforts of the NJRCEV team in the management and implementation of the construction plan.”
